I created this feature based on two ideas.

1. Similar teams (value and shape) have similar behaviour when play against the same kind of team.

2. The teams have different behaviour when play against different group of teams.

To be more clear, let consider a small team against one of the big teams. For sure when look for head to head results we have to check not only the specific teams but our small team against all big teams in the same league. It is easy to check that exist small or average teams that play unexpected well against big teams (especially at home) but fails to have good results against similar teams.

Referring the second statement, I think it is very clear that one of the big 4 teams in the Premier will handle in some way a game against one of the other big 4 and other way against the rest of the teams. It is easy to think that against a small team will not play with 100% power but only enough power to get the points. On the other hand considering a games between top teams there we see all the power and resources released.

Of course here is needed more information and deeper analyses but at first sight it is worth to try Man City HT/FT 1/1.   The odds are around 2.75

Please note:  this is just an example. You have to make your own analyse and to bet accordingly.

Based on that let-s see the “Group vs group” feature of the “Tables” section. I will use as example the today’s game Manchester City - Arsenal and I will create a group. The group consist of the big 5 teams of the Premier League and I will study the games between them in the last 3 seasons.

So, select the league and then the last 3 seasons results. Take a look at the table and then select the tab “Group vs group” (in the bottom). Select, one by one Arsenal,Chelsea,Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd and send them in the group no. 1.

Now we may see the table only considering the last 3 seasons games between top 5 teams. Let-s notice Chelsea lost only 2 games out of 20. If you look at the table with all teams you will see Chelsea lost 15 out of 98 in total. So lost 15% against all teams but only 10 against the other top teams. As I said on the top of the page and is good to know.

 Click on Arsenal

Arsenal won only 2 games (both of them against Liverpool) and lost 50% of the games.

Now select only away games.

Arsenal lost 7 out of 10 and more than that they scored only 3 goals but received goals 9 games out of 10 on the first half.

Indeed, if select only first half results and away games, Arsenal has 1-1-8.  Seems to be logic to assume Arsenal will receive goal in the first half and will loose the first half.

Now click on Manchester City, home games, first half.

Manchester City lost only 2 first half, not scored only in games against Chelsea and Manchester Utd. Again I may think that Manchester will score against Arsenal in the first half.

Let-s check what happened in the similar games in the previous seasons. Of course we can not see other results. In the games with the same ELO difference and similar shapes the home team won 11 out of 14 with a good profit.

Let-s check the shape of the teams , to be sure we do not have some big deviation in the last games. This is good to check because instable big teams must be avoided in my opinion.

Go to “Form chart” and click Man City and Arsenal. Then select “Lat 10 games” in order to see better. As we can see there are not big differences later. They seems to be stable.
